  1. Hey hun, Im in the same boat as your are. Im 19 as well and am researching credit cards. So far I've found that American express offers two good cards such as the "clear" and " blue". go to their site and check it out. but the card you get depends on what you are wanting out of your credit card from cash back, rewards, travel points... etc. Most credit card sites also have questionaries to help you pick the perfect card for you If you are currently attending college then check out different credit card companies as all of them or most offer student credit cards for college students which offer low APR rates and no annual fees. From checking out visa i see that they dont have many cards that are perfect for someone that has limited/no credit but they do foor people with fair credit. I hope this helps. For now , I think im going with the American Express Blue card myself but thats just an option until i find something better .
  2. 1. Start by getting a secured credit card at a bank where you deposit money. Use the secured credit card to build up your credit history for a few years. Then apply for a regular, unsecured credit card. 2. Applying for many credit cards will lower your score. If you are rejected for any credit card, wait at least 13-15 months before applying for a credit card (either the same one or a different one) again. Do not apply for two or more times (either for the same card or for different cards) within one year of each other.
  3. there are a couple of ways you could start building credit, you could get a small personal loan which you might need a cosigner or the best way will be getting a credit cards, you could get a credit card and use it for your every day expenses but make sure you pay in full at the end of the month that way it will show pay in full everytime the credit card company reports to the credit beuros. At the begining you will only be approved for the lower end credit cards but once you build credit in about 6-9 months you should be able to apply for a better card with better benefits such as free miles or cash back. Check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under bad or no credit section and you will find a few choices. But if you are a student apply of a student credit card these cards have no annual fees and low rates.
  4. This could depend on many factors, your best to begin with is to get a free credit report, this will tell you currently what kind of financial status you are currently in and what kind of credit cards you will eligible to get. Make sure you get the report from a free government agency, I have always used http://freecreditreport.v8i.info and never had any problems, they are government backed and give a completely free report in no time. Good luck Thanks Andy
