Why did he get such a low interest rate? My husband's uncle just got approved for a mortgage, at 1%! Like how is that even possible. They said it was because his income is low. My husband and I make less than them and our interest rate is not 1%, and our credit score is about the same as his uncle if not a little better. How did he get a low rate?
Refinancing a mortgage with an already low interest rate.? I have a 30yr fixed 4.93% interest on my 140k home, I currently owe 130k. My monthly mortgage is $1.116. If I refinance, according to several sources, I can lower my monthly bill to the 700-800 range. How is this possible if I would be refinancing at a higher interest rate, around 6%? With my fixed low rate, is there any reason besides a catastrophic event to refinance? The $1116 monthly payment includes all insurances and taxes. We did 100% financing, and had to come up with about 2k for closing costs. We've had this mortgage for 3 1/2 years.

What can I do to ensure that I can buy the vehicle I'm wanting and get a low interest rate? My credit has become pretty damaged in the past 2 years, due to divorce and stupid mistakes on my part. I am looking to purchase a new vehicle and I'm worried about my credit history affecting my chances at getting it. I recently paid off debts that were in collections and I have records of them being paid in full. My problem is that I'm pretty sure it will still show in bad standing on my credit. I also have a home loan that started into foreclosure but was pulled out. I do not live in the home, my name is on the loan though. The bank will not remove it unless my ex-husband refinances the home. Ofcourse he will not do that. I already have 2 auto loans that are paid in full on my credit and other smaller items. What can I do to ensure that I will be able to buy the vehicle I'm looking at and not get ripped off on the interest rate because of my credit? Who exactly do I contact to start making repairs on my credit? Do I call the credit companies or companies like Experian, Transunion, etc?

Help needed finding a low interest rate for a home purchase loan.? I am looking for suggestions for a good place to apply for preapproval for a home purchase loan. We want to make sure that we get the best interest rate, but don't want to have multiple credit checks on our credit. We have excellent credit, so this will not be a problem. Just want to make sure we get the best deal for a fixed rate 30 year mortgage with low closing costs. We have found the house that we want to make an offer on. We just need our preapproval before we can make that offer. I don't want to do lending tree, because they put multiple credit checks on your credit and I have looked at the interest comparisons online and they are very limited. I know there is somewhere out there that we can find a lower interest rate. All help will be highly appreciated.

How can the overnight call rates be so low compared to the market interest rate? When the RBI has a repo rate of 6% and a reverse repo rate of 7.5%, one would expect the overnight call rate among the banks to be somewhere between 6% and 7.5%. I believe the current very low levels of the call rate is because of the RBI using the repo window to suck liquidity only to a limited extent of Rs 3000 crore / day. What i dont understand is how the call rates can be as low as 1% (the 1% is for interest charged per annum right?). Isnt this cheap money for the banks then? Why not borrow cheap and park them in treasury bonds or liquid mutual funds? How can the overnight call rate be far off from the market interest rate irrespective of the repo and reverse repo rates and the amount of money the RBI actually does borrow from the commercial banks?
